Electric and magnetic fields (EMF’s) are invisible fields created man-made sources such as electricity and communication technology. Just to lists a few, this would include MRI’s, x-rays, microwaves, cell phones, tablets, Wi-Fi, laptops, cell towers, routers, LED’s, smart meters, power lines, blue tooth devices, wireless headphones and ear buds, 5G, electricity, local towers and antennae, just to name a few. Most of these devices come with EMF warning labels, but we just ignore them for the most part. These have become an unavoidable part of the modern conveniences that man had created, and frankly it is killing us!
Would you believe all this started in 1893. Dr. Jack Kruse said, “life all changed when we began to see how we could use EMF’s for modern life. Nikola Tesla demonstrated the first AC power system at the World’s Fair. Edison began constructing the first commercial electric company in NY. Two years later, the modern era of electrical engineering began when we harnessed the power of Niagra Falls. In 1901, Marconi sent the first transatlantic radio message. In 1907, the vacuum tube was invented and enabled the first voice transmission by the radio in 1915. In 1920, we had the first commercial radio station. Prior to this, we used candles, campfires, and kerosene.”
Remember, our bodies are electrical in nature. We’re made up of atoms, which are made up of protons, electrons, and neutrons. Protons have a positive charge, neutrons have a neutral charge, and electrons have a negative charge. When these charges are out of balance, an atom becomes either positively or negatively charged. So, without getting too scientific, you want to have more electrons in the cell for mitochondria help, instead of protons. More protons than electrons equals oxidative stress and damage to mitochondria, which can lead to disease, sickness, auto-immune diseases and cancers. Additionally, scientists have discovered our bodies contain the magnetic material magnetite. It turns out that high concentrations of magnetite have been discovered in the human head and brain. Magnetite is a mineral that is especially susceptible to magnetic attraction. With that said, children are at a much higher risk because their sculls are thinner than adults and they are in a developing phase of life. So parents, please be aware of this as your little ones are on devices.
Unfortunately, diet and exercise alone will not fix us. Intracellular dehydration, estrogen dominance and progesterone deficiency, sleep, autism, Hashimoto’s and adrenal issues are just a few things these fields affect. In the Internal Journal of Molecular Science, January 2022, they speak of the connection between EMF and brain and breast cancer and leukemia. The International Agency for Research on Cancer has classified EMF’s as a possible human carcinogen.
So what kind of things can you do to lower EMF exposure?
1. Turn Off Wi-Fi at Night
2. Hard-Wiring Internet Connections, no Wi-Fi
3. Grounding Your Laptop Computer
4. Keep Laptops off your lap
5. Use speaker or hand free when on smartphones, don’s get close to your head.
6. Put phone in airplane mode at night.
7. Ground as much as you can, or sleep on grounding mattress pad, more about this later.
8. Don’t use wireless things like your computer mouse, head phones, ear buds or anything Bluetooth.
9. Drink plenty of water and eat plenty of foods with DHA. We will discuss these things further.

THE SUN……….without it, we die! Now, let’s talk about this FREE, number one bio-hack, in my opinion. First, what is bio-hacking? With biohacking you aim to influence your body’s biology and physics, by altering your environment or the things you put in your body. Now about the sun. What process occurs in a plant for it to live that only the sun can cause? Photosynthesis! Did you know that photosynthesis processes occur in the human body that is vital for life? The sun gives off 2 types of light, UVA and UVB. Both are very important to our HEALTHY existence. UVA light is best found at sunrise until about 10am, give or take, depending on the latitude you live in. Also, my favorite time, it is found during the sun setting hours, late in the day. UVA is awesome because when that light hits the retina of the eyes, it triggers melanin production in the body. What is melanin? Melanin is a substance in your body that produces hair, eye and skin pigmentation. The more melanin you produce, the darker your eyes, hair and skin will be AND melanin protects your skin from DNA damage, so in the middle of the day you can absorb UVB, which is how we get vitamin D. Absorbing these lights must be done without sunglasses, and you cannot absorb them in your house or car with windows rolled up. Want to get a nice tan, without using cancer causing sunscreens? Start catching sunrises and sunsets and spend 30 minutes or so in the mid day hours, increasing your time slowly over several days until you can be in the sun for several hours and not burn. Also, you will sleep better catching a sunrise and sunset because UVA keeps your circadian rhythm in check. Stayed tuned and I will go over UVB light and production of vitamin D and how it is critical in being and staying healthy.
The second form of light the sun emits is UVB. This is available during mid-day hours, say from 10am-5pm, again depending on you latitude and season. UVB gives us our very important vitamin D. This is part of the day where you can burn if not careful. To avoid using sunscreen, start out with several minutes and increase everyday and you will get a nice tan. Also, the least amount of clothes you have on, the more absorption you will get. We actually rely on photosynthesis, just like plants, to make vitamin D.
Why is vitamin D so important to live a healthy life? Vitamin D is needed to regulate many cellular functions in the body and acts to support anti-inflammatory responses, antioxidant activity, nerve cells, the immune system, muscle function, and brain cell activity. Beyond this, vitamin D is helpful in warding off viruses and bacteria, and helping the cells efficiently create and use energy. Vitamin D deficiencies, include obesity, bone malformation, psoriasis, heart failure in the newly born, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, mental illness, diabetes, and even cancer, as well as most autoimmune diseases. The sun powers our mitochondria to produce basic electrical charges. Without this power and vitamin D we are subjected to a myriad of illnesses.

So what does vitamin D do for us?
1. Facilitates increased intestinal absorption of phosphorus and calcium, great for our bones.
2. Increases adiponectin levels and low leptin levels causing weight loss and decrease chance of diabetes.
3. It’s a natural antibiotic.
4. It’s a direct inhibitor of the hormone renin in our kidneys, which can help with blood pressure issues.
5. Low levels of D can lead to psoriasis.
6. Autoimmune diseases and low D have a direct correlation.
7. Age will decrease your skin’s ability to make vitamin D3 from sunlight and cholesterol, so the older you are, the more sun you need.
8. Higher vitamin D levels are also associated with longer telomere lengths. The longer they are, the more you can slow the aging process in your DNA.
GET OUT IN THE SUN, IT WILL DO YOUR BODY SOME GOOD!

Now that we have talked about the natural light that can be healthy for you (the sun), let’s talk about the artificial light that is VERY harmful to us. BLUE LIGHT!

What is blue light?
All the light we see is made up of different wavelengths of light. Blue light has the shortest wavelength and the highest energy. The most natural source is sunlight, but LED TVs, fluorescent lights, smartphones, tablets, and computers emit blue light, too.
The earliest civilization to produce blue pigments was ancient Egypt. Around 2600 BC, Egyptians created the first synthetic blue pigment, known as Egyptian blue, by heating together limestone, sand, and copper compounds. This vibrant, brilliant blue adorned the walls of tombs, the garments of royalty, and the grand statues of pharaohs. Blue’s significance didn’t stop with art. In modern times, blue plays a crucial role in the tech we use every day. One of the most interesting examples of this is the invention of blue LEDs. It wasn’t until the 1990s that Japanese researchers finally cracked the code, inventing the first high-efficiency blue LED.
What are the negative effects of blue light?
Exposure to blue light before bedtime also can disrupt sleep patterns as it affects when our bodies create melatonin. Interruption of the circadian system plays a role in the development of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, cancer, sleep disorders, and cognitive dysfunctions. It can cause retina damage, age-related macular degeneration, and cataracts.
The best way to block blue light is to wear blue blocking glasses with a yellow tint while being inside while the sun is still shining. Once the sun sets, the red tinted blue blocking glasses are to be worn inside. Don’t be fooled by imitations on Amazon that are less than $150. Not all of them are created equal. Also, don’t think that your regular glasses block blue light, they, at best, probably filter some blue light, but they are not blocking the majority of blue light. You must have yellow, or red lenses.
I have teamed up with Filter Optix to provide the best non-prescription blue blockers, as well as, prescription ones, even with progressives if you need them. These are the real deal! Just go to https://filteroptix.com/drkevin and receive a discount.
WHAT IS DHA AND WHY IS IT VITAL TO OUR HEALTH?
Docosahexaenoic acid is a polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acid that is found in seafood. It is important for brain growth and normal brain function. It is a major structural fat, making up 97 percent of the omega-3s found in the brain and 93 percent of the omega-3s found in the retina of the eyes. It is also a key component of the heart. It can be found in the grey matter of the brain and retinal (eye) tissues in humans. But more importantly, it is found in every cell membrane that protects the mitochondria. Remember back in my blue light post, I discussed how blue light destroys your cells membrane, thus leading to mitochondrial damage, thus leading to diseases and sickness.

Remember when I discussed about magnetism on the last post, how everything is about electrons, neutrons, and protons in the cells? And how if we have more electrons (DC current) than protons, we will be without disease and be healthier? Ok, stay with me, I’m going to try and put it all together. When UV sunlight hits the retina of the eye and chloroplast, they spin faster. The faster they spin, the more photonic energy becomes a DC electric current. That’s what the current of light is all about in both plants and animals. So in order to take UV and convert it to DC electric currents (electrons) it MUST HAVE DHA available in the cells. You need seafood and you need a lot of it in order to utilize the purple light from the sun and not only that, you need to get out in the sun. You need to have your skin exposed to the sun and the most important part is your eyes. Your eye needs to get that sun because the cells I told you about earlier, the retinal and chloroplast, they use DHA as their base fuel and when light comes in, light current and DC electric currents drive the retinal cells. When the sunlight hits your skin, it releases nitric oxide, no matter what, even if you’re deficient. And what does nitric oxide do in your skin? It vasodilates, yes, vasodilates, so that you can absorb more purple light through the porphyrins in haemoglobin. So the more you’re in the sun, that means the more DHA you need to eat.
DHA may help with:
- May benefit depression and anxiety
- May improve eye health
- Could promote brain health during pregnancy and early life
- May improve risk factors for heart disease
- May reduce symptoms of ADHD in children
- Could reduce symptoms of metabolic syndrome
- May reduce inflammation
- Might benefit autoimmune diseases
- Could improve mental disorders
- May help prevent age-related mental decline and Alzheimer’s disease
- May help prevent cancer
- Could reduce asthma in children
- May reduce fat in your liver
- May improve bone and joint health
- Might help alleviate menstrual pain
- May improve sleep
- Could support skin health
I think we all know someone who suffers with 1 or more of these issues. So, I really think there is a deficiency of DHA across the board in a lot of people. Why is that? My opinion is that a majority of people don’t like seafood in this region (we need to get over that LOL) or they are “allergic” to it. Did you know that people who live closer to the equator are healthier as a population? They get more sun, eat more seafood, and ground on the sand and beaches. Starting to make sense?
Here is a least of foods that contain DHA, from highest to lowest:
- Mackerel
- Cod Liver
- Salmon
- Herring
- Tuna
- Sardines
- Cavier
- Anchovies
- Raw oysters
We consume the mackerel and sardines daily, with weekly tuna and salmon. And oysters when we go to the beach!
WATER, ONE OF THE LAWS OF NATURE
Water is one of the laws of nature, along with light and magnetism, which we
will talk about next. But, let’s talk about water. Water keeps our body energized
and our systems functioning properly. There is good water and bad water out there. Good water increases our exclusion zone or the area where energy transfers take place for cell functioning, thus improving blood flow. The bigger the exclusion zone, the better the energy transfer. Most of our municipal water supplies are polluted with toxins. City water is full of chlorine, bromide, fluoride and all sorts of other nasty “minerals” that have negative effects on our health and
limits the exclusion zone of water.
So what is the best water. Dr. Kruse recommends reverse osmosis water from a well as “the best.” If you can’t get RO water, go for distilled or spring water next. If you’re out and need water, or if you want to buy your water locally, look for spring or artesian water. Water bottled in glass is best; Dr. Kruse likes Aqua Panna, Gerolsteiner and Pellegrino glass-bottled water. Also, consider getting a whole house filtration system with a filtration system on each faucet you drink from and performing RO on it.
We have water delivered from Crystal Springs. Their “purified” water is either reverse osmosis water or distilled. And, when Cassie is in the Hot Springs, Arkansas area for work, she will fill up our 5 gallon glass jugs with natural spring water from one of their city faucets and it is soooo good. Remember also, not to contaminate good water with nasty ice.
EARTH’S MAGNETISM AND GROUNDING
Magnetism is the last law of nature we will discuss, as we have already talked about light and water. Earth’s magnetism is generated by the movement of molten iron in the Earth’s outer core, creating electrical currents that produce a magnetic field around the planet, essentially acting like a giant magnet. The North Pole has a magnetic charge and the South Pole has a magnetic charge, if you don’t believe me, how do you think a compass works? The closer you get to the poles of the earth, the stronger the magnetism. The magnetic field acts as a shield, deflecting harmful charged particles from the sun (solar wind) that would otherwise damage the atmosphere and life on Earth. Beyond shielding us from harmful radiation, the Earth’s magnetic field plays a critical role in the lives of many animals.

Migratory birds rely heavily on the Earth’s magnetic field during their long, seasonal migrations. They use the magnetic field’s intensity and angle to determine their location and maintain their course over thousands of miles. Newly hatched sea turtles instinctively swim towards the open ocean using the Earth’s magnetic field as their guide. They remember the specific magnetic “signature” of their natal beach, which they use to return to breed years later. Salmon use the Earth’s magnetic field to find their way back to their spawning grounds after spending years in the ocean. They seem to imprint on the magnetic field characteristics of their birth river. Some insects, such as monarch butterflies, are also thought to utilize the magnetic field during their complex migrations. They follow predictable pathways across North America, guided by more than just the position of the sun.
Some research suggests that fluctuations in the Earth’s magnetic field may play a role in regulating biological clocks (circadian rhythms) in some organisms. Dis-ruptions to the field may lead to subtle variations in the timing of natural behav-iors and biological cycles.
WHAT IS GROUNDING/EARTHING?
Grounding is about having direct skin contact with the surface of the Earth, whether it’s your bare feet, your hands or other parts of your body. The theory is that when we physically connect with the ground, its electrical energy rebalances our own. Since grounding can increase the amount of electrons (negative) or DC current in our bodies, thus in our cells, thus to the mitochondria, we can be healthier for that. But remember, in order to keep a healthy DC current in the cells, you must have DHA. Many decades ago, the earth gave off around 5 gauss, now, with all the EMF’s that man has created, we are now around 0.5 gauss. Pro-ponents believe that the rise in chronic illnesses can be attributed, in part, to our footwear.
WAYS TO GROUND OUTSIDE:
• Walk barefoot.
• Sit or lie down in dirt, grass or sand.
• Sit in a chair and let your bare feet touch the ground.
• Swim or relax in a natural body of water.
• Get your hands dirty (literally) by touching or playing with the soil.
• Cassie, I, and the kids enjoy grounding while kayaking by just hanging our legs over the sides with our feet in the water because water conducts elec-tricity. The best place to ground is where the surf or waves meet the beach or sand because of the water.

WAYS TO GROUND INSIDE:
• Mats.
• Blankets.
• Mattress pads.
• Mattress sheets.
• Special shoes.
I will say, if you have to plug into the wall your mats, pads, or sheets, this is not TRUE grounding. You are still bringing in dirty electricity. The optimal way to ground those is to run the grounding wire out a window or door, connect to a metal rod and pushed down into the GROUND several inches. Since it is hard to ground outside everyday due to temperature and the weather, Cassie and I de-cided to get a grounding mattress pad that goes between the mattress and box spring. This way, we ground every night and our sleep system delivers 20 GAUSS of energy per night, and you do not have to plug it in anywhere. The company who we have joined forces is called Magnetico and our link will be at the bottom of this article.
BENEFITS OF GROUNDING:
• Improve mood and reduce stress.
• Improve sleep and prevent or treat fatigue.
• Reduce inflammation.
• Speed healing and reduce pain.
• Improve immune system function.
• Improve multiple heart health metrics.

So in summing up so far in this series, we have 5 important pillars to getting healthy and stay healthy.
1. Sunlight
2. Blocking Blue Light
3. Grounding
4. Water
5. DHA
