The Ledge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community gathering hall in Spring Creek, Tennessee. We keep this website simple, and we collect very little about you. This page explains what we collect, why, and who else touches it.

What we collect, and when

We collect information only when you choose to give it to us.

  • When you send a message or a rental inquiry. The name, email, phone number and message you type into our contact, rental or parade forms. We use it to reply to you and to plan your event.
  • When you join our newsletter. Your email address, sent to Mailchimp, which sends our email updates.
  • When you buy something from us. Tickets, merchandise, and other purchases are paid through Square. We receive your name, email address and what you bought. We use it to complete your order and send a receipt, and we add your email address to our contact database so we can keep in touch about The Ledge, its events and its needs. You can ask to be removed at any time (see Your choices).
  • When you donate. Gifts are handled by Fundraise Up, a payment service. You enter your name, email and payment details on their secure form. We receive your name, email and gift amount so we can thank you and send a receipt. We never see or store your card number.
  • When you order an engraved brick or sign up for an event that uses a Microsoft Form. The details you type into that form go to The Ledge through Microsoft.

This website does not have user accounts or a shopping cart. Purchases are completed through Square, and bricks and some event sign-ups through Microsoft Forms.

Cookies and tracking

This website does not use advertising cookies, and it does not currently run visitor analytics. Our pages are served from our own web host, and our fonts and images are hosted with the site.

Some services we link to or load (Fundraise Up on the donation page, Square, Mailchimp, Microsoft Forms, Facebook and Google Maps) may set their own cookies once you use them. Their policies govern that.

If we add analytics in the future, we will update this page first and say what is measured.

Who else sees your information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the services that do the job you asked for:

  • Mailchimp (newsletter email)
  • Square (purchases and payment processing)
  • Fundraise Up and its payment processor Stripe (donations)
  • Microsoft (brick orders and some event forms)
  • Our web host, which keeps standard server logs (such as your IP address and the pages requested) for security and troubleshooting, usually for a short period

We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Messages and rental inquiries are kept as long as needed to answer you and to keep a record of rentals and gifts. Purchase and donation records are kept as long as tax and nonprofit record-keeping rules require. Email addresses in our contact database, including those from purchases, stay there until you ask us to remove them or you unsubscribe.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe at any time with the link at the bottom of any email we send, or ask us to take you off our contact list, even if you have bought from us before.
  • Ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you by calling 731-214-8755, writing to the mailing address above, or using our contact form. We will answer within a reasonable time. Some purchase and donation records we must keep by law.
  • Control cookies in your browser settings.

Children

This site is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

This site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). No method of sending information over the internet is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect so there is less to protect.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new date.
